I need a vacation from the world.

The news this week has been especially horrible. First Alton Sterling and then Philando Castile. Two more black men executed by police. And how five police officers killed by sniper fire in Dallas.

My heart hurts. So much death and hatred and anger.

I just want to hide from it all.

When I went to the grocery store tonight, I noticed that the flag in front of the Wal-Mart was at half mast. I realized that I used to wonder why the flag was at half- mast when I noticed it. But I don't wonder anymore. I just assume it was another shooting somewhere ( Read more... )

Donald Trump is holding a $2,700 a plate fund-raising lunch within two blocks of The Place on Monday. The city of Boston is closing down streets. For protection? Because they expect protesters? Because they can? I'm so terrified of what this man is doing to our country with his anti-woman, racist, xenophobic rhetoric. He's absolutely toxic. ( Read more... )
